Location Lat 12° 41' 3N 123° 52' 41E E Bulan Airfield is located on the Magallanes-Bulan Road north of Bulan (Bulsan) on the southwestern tip of the Bicol peninsula of southeastern Luzon. Also known as Bulsan Airfield. Today known as Sorsogon Airport. Construction Built prewar as an auxiliary airstrip. Wartime History Used by the Japanese as an auxiliary airfield. American missions against Bulan February 6, 1945 By April 16, 1945, Bulan Airfield was liberated by the US Army 2nd Battalion, (reinforced), 158th Infantry At Bulan Airfield, Allied Technical Intelligence Unit (ATIU) noted the wreckage of two A6M5 Zeros and five Jills. Afterwards, the airfield was used by the US Army to airlift in supplies for operations on the Bicol peninsula. Today Still in use today as "Sorsogon Airport". Airport Code: RPUU.
