Location Lat 7° 58' 0" Long 125° 3' 0" Valencia Airfield was located at an elevation of 885' above sea level near Valencia in Bukidnon Province in central Mindanao in the Philippines. Construction Built prewar by the U.S. Army with two runways known as Valencia No. 1 and Valencia No. 2 as an auxiliary airfield. Wartime History In the early months of the Pacific War, used by the U. S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as a forward airfield. On April 11, 1942 nine B-25C Mitchells took off from Batchelor Field near Darwin on a 1,500 mile flight to Mindanao for the Royce Mission and were dispersed at Valencia Airfield and Maramag Airfield. On April 12, 1942 used for strike no. 1 by B-25s to bomb Japanese shipping in Cebu Harbor. On April 13, 1942 in the morning used for strike no. 2 to again bomb Japanese shipping in Cebu Harbor. Later in the day, used for strike no. 3 to bomb the dock area at Davao. After dark, the B-25s departed for the flight back to Australia landing safely on April 14, 1942 at 3:00am at Batchelor Field near Darwin. In early May 1942, occupied by the Japanese.
