Location Lat 36° 47' 30S Long 174° 39' 50E Hobsonville Airfield is located at an elevation of 59' above sea level near Auckland on the North Island of New Zealand. Also known as "RNZAF Station Hobsonville". Wartime History Used by the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) for the reassembly of crated aircraft shipped from the United States to New Zealand and also for pilot training. During December 1945, the commanding officer was Wing Commander Willis. RNZAF units based at Hobsonville No. 1 Aircraft Depot No. 4 OTU Postwar Several historic aircraft were displayed outdoors at Ardmore Airfield including A6M3 Zero 3844 (1945–1957), S23 Sunderland NZ4103 (1951–1953) and Seafire Tail A-CF (1945).
