Thursday, 27 November 1941

The War Department and Navy sent warnings of imminent war to commanders of U.S. forces in the Pacific.

USN: Admiral Harold R. Stark, Chief of Naval Operations, sends "war warning" message to commanders of the Pacific and Asiatic Fleets.

SS President Madison departs Shanghai with the 2d Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Donald Curtis, USMC embarked bound for Olongapo.

U.S. Army: General George C. Marshall, Army Chief of Staff, sends a similar message to his Hawaiian and Philippine Department commanders.

USMC: Twelve F4F-3 Wildcats from Marine Fighter Squadron 211 (VMF-211) on secret orders are flown from Ewa Field to Luke Field for transfer to USS Enterprise (CV-6) the next day.
