WEDNESDAY, 25 MARCH 1942 SOUTHWEST PACIFIC AREA (SWPA, 5th Air Force): 16th and 17th Bombardment Squadrons, 27th Bombardment Group, cease operating from Brisbane with A-24s and begin moving to Charters Towers. USN: USS California (BB-44) sunk on December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor is sucessfully refloated then placed into dry dock for repairs. RAAF: Force landed and undamaged is P-40E Kittyhawk A29-8.
