THURSDAY, 5 NOVEMBER 1942

ALASKA (Eleventh Air Force): Weather reconnaissance is flown over Kiska and Little Kiska.

SOUTHWEST PACIFIC AREA (SWPA, Fifth Air Force): B-25s unsuccessfully attack a schooner near Arawe. Lost is C-47 "The Broadway Limited" 41-38615 pilot 2nd Lt Harold B. Majure (KIA). Destroyed by fire is B-17E Flying Fortress 41-9012 parked in a hangar Mareeba Airfield.
