Location Lat 26° 15' 29N Long 127° 44' 6E Kakazu 数 (pronounced "Cock-a-zoo") is located at an elevation of 36' / 10m above sea level in Ginowan-shi at the center of southern Okinawa Island in Okinawa Prefecture in Japan. Also spelled Kakuazu. Kakazu Ridge (Hacksaw Ridge, Big Escarpment) Kakazu Ridge (pronounced "Cock-a-zoo") is part of the Maeda Escarpment (Urasoe-Maeda Escarpment). Kakazutakadai Park 1-chōme-5 Kakazu, Ginowan-shi, Okinawa 901-2226 Today, Kakazutakadai Park with free encompasses Kakazu Ridge offering panoramic views to the north of the western coast and beaches. The park includes the ruins of Urasoe Castle (Urasoe Jo). The area still has many cave entrances and Japanese memorials from the Battle of Okinawa. Admission to the park is free. Urasoe Castle (Urasoe Jo) Built during the 13th century atop Kakazu Ridge at the southern edge of Urasoe on Kakazu Ridge. The ruins of the stone walls are located in Kakazutakadai Park.
