    Lake Abutara Hulunbuir Province Manchuria (Manchukuo) | China
Location
Lake Abutara is a freshwater lake in Hulunbuir Province in northern China near the near the border western border of Manchuria (Manchukuo) and Mongolia. Known as Abutara Nur (in Mongolian) or Abutara-Ko (in Chinese). To the southwest is Nomonhan. Today located in Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongol Autonomous Region (NMAR)

Wartime History
During the Battle of Khalkhin Gol / Nomonhan Incident May-September 1939, the main Japanese Army logistical base was relocated to this location on August 11, 1939 to avoid enemy artillery fire.
