Location Lat 15° 12' 25N Long 145° 42' 54E Garapan is located on the west coast of Saipan Island in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in the United States of America (USA). To the north is Mutcho Point. To the northeast is Tanapang Harbor. Today, Garapan is the largest city on the island. American Memorial Park (AMP) Locate to the north of Garapan. Sam McPhetres adds: "There is a named scratched into the inner wall of the of the corridor running along the main cell block of the Saipan Japanese jail that may be worth some research: 'J. J. Beiser, June 15, 1944'." If this name is mispelled or misread might be American Prisoner Of War (POW) TSgt Edward J. Bislew engineer B-24D "Baby Sandy 2" 42-73013 who was captured and possibly taken to Saipan and died on June 15, 1944 at the start of the U.S. landing. Contribute
