Location
Urukthapel Island is located in Koror State in Palau (Republic of Palau, Belau, Pelew). To the northeast is Koror Island (Oreor). To the north is Arakabesan Island (Ngerekebesang) and Malakal Island (Ngemelachel). Borders Palau Harbor anchorage to the east.
Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the Pacific War until the official surrender of Japan in September 1945. At the eastern tip is a lighthouse and anti-aircraft guns.
