    Cape Engaño Cagayan Province | Luzon Philippines
Location
Cape Engaño the northernmost point of Palaui Island, off the northeasternmost point of Luzon in the Philippines. Today, administratively part of the municipality of Santa Ana in Cagayan Province. Also spelled Cape Engano.

Prewar
The Spanish built Cape Engaño Lighthouse (Faro de Cabo Engaño) as one of the four lighthouses built for ships in the Philippines using Filipino laborers between September 21, 1888 until completed December 31, 1892.

Battle Off Cape Engano
The Battle off Cape Engano was one of three actions that comprised the Battle for Leyte Gulf. At the same time the Fast Carrier Force met the Japanese "Northern Force" during the Battle Off Cape Engano, sinking the aircraft carrier Zuikaku and light carriers Chiyoda, Zuiho, and Chilose.
