Location Lat 16° 10' 23N Long 120° 30' 36E Sison is located at an elevation of 278' / 84m in the north of the 5th District (District V) of Pangasinan Province in the Ilocos Region (Region I) of northern Luzon in the Philippines. Wartime History On January 9, 1945 after the U.S. Army landings on Lingayen Gulf, the U.S. Army 71st Division (less the 71st Infantry Regiment) took up positions astride Route 3 to the south of Sison. On January 18, 1945 advancing from Palacpalac, 2d Bn of 769th Inf, 43d Div, attacks through Bobonan to road junction near Sison and maintains a roadblock at that location under strong enemy pressure. On January 19, 1945 the 169th Inf of 43d Div moves reinforcements to 2d Battalion at the road junction near Sison, but Japanese regain the position. Contribute
