Location Lat 17° 36' 47N Long 121° 43' 37E Tuguegarao is located at an elevation of 190' / 57m in the Cagayan Valley inland from the northeast of Luzon in the Philippines. Provincial capital of Cagayan Province. Also known as Tuguegarao City, Tugegarao or Tuguecarad. Wartime History On December 8, 1941 at 9:30am Japanese aircraft bombed Tuguegarao. On December 12, 1941 the Japanese Army "Tanaka Detachment" occupies Tuguegarao after landing on the northern coast of Luzon. Occupied by the Japanese during their occupation of the Philippines. Starting in the middle of January 1945 attacked by U.S. bombers and fighters until late July 1945. American missions against Tuguegarao December 8, 1941–July 26, 1945 During late July 1945 liberated by U.S. Army and Filipino forces.
