Location
The Abuari-Kaile Tail is a prewar inland walking trail in the Owen Stanley Range in New Guinea. To the west is the Eora Creek and beyond the Kokoda Trail. Also known as the Abuari-Kaile Track. This trail begins at Kaile and proceeds southward to Hagutawa, Misima, Asigari (with a spur to Isurava) and Abuari then turns to the west to the southwest to Alolo (Alola) where it joins the Kokoda Trail. Today located in Oro Province in Papua
New Guinea (PNG).
Wartime History
During the Kokoda Campaign, during late August 1942 the Japanese Army used the Abuari-Kaile Tail as a parallel route to the Kokoda Trail providing flanking access to Isurava and Alolo (Alola).
