Location Lat 3° 36' 54S Long 142° 55' 25E Balif village is an inland village at 843' / 256m above sea level in New Guinea. Also known as Balif villages or Bali. Possibly, known as Amuli Nanu East during the Pacific War. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Territory of New Guinea. Today, located in the Maprik District of East Sepik Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG) borders the Sepik Highway road between Maprik and Dreikikir. Wartime History During January 1945 Japanese Army defenders occupied positions at Balif area. On January 23, 1945 bombed by RAAF Beauforts from No. 100 Squadron.
