    Cape Hoskins (Hoskins) West New Britain Province Papua New Guinea (PNG)
Location
Lat 5° 16' 60S Long 150° 1' 60E  Cape Hoskins is located on the north coast of western New Britain. Also known as simply "Hoskins". On the northwest coast is Gavuvu (Gabubu) and Hoskins Airfield. Beyond to the southwest is Kimbe. Prewar and during the Pacific War located located in the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in West New Britain Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Wartime History
During 1942, occupied by the Japanese who constructed a Hoskins Airfield at this location. Starting in the middle of September 1943 attacked by Allied aircraft including bombers and later fighters until March 1944.

Allied missions against Cape Hoskins
September 19, 1943–March 26, 1944

During late December 1943, after the U.S. Marines landing at Cape Gloucester retreating Japanese forces withdrew via Cape Hoskins on their way eastward towards Rabaul. In early May 1944 the Cape Hoskins area was captured by U.S. Marines.
