| Location Lat 6° 4' 49S Long 147° 36' 24E Sialum is located at sea level on the north coast of New Guinea. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in Morobe District in the Territory of New Guinea. Today headquarters of Sialum Rural LLC in the Tawae-Siassi District of Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Ki-48-II Lily Manufacture Number 1490 Force landed near Sialum. Japanese Aircraft Wreck Wreckage near Sialum. Sialum Airfield Postwar built runway for the Government Post at Sialum. Ray Fairfield adds: "I visited Sialum a couple of times to stay with the kiap. The two wrecks I did visit I have noted as a P-38 and a Japanese bomber. The P-38 was in worse condition, if anything. Both wrecks were just scattered metal, and it was almost dark on a rainy afternoon when we were there, The 20mm cannon ammo was what made me think G4M1 Betty, but of course the G3M2 Nell also had that caliber [or the Ki-49 Helen].
