Ray Fairfield adds: "I visited Sialum a couple of times to stay with the kiap. The two wrecks I did visit I have noted as a P-38 and a Japanese bomber. The P-38 was in worse condition, if anything. Both wrecks were just scattered metal, and it was almost dark on a rainy afternoon when we were there, The 20mm cannon ammo was what made me think G4M1 Betty, but of course the G3M2 Nell also had that caliber [or the Ki-49 Helen].
