Location Lat 9° 25' 60S Long 147° 10' 0E Waigani is an area of Port Moresby to the northwest of Gordon. Also known as "5 Mile". Includes 5-Mile Wards Drome. Today, includes PNG Parliament and government. 5 Mile Drome (Wards Drome) Built during 1942 developed into a major Allied airfield for bombers, transport aircraft National Museum and Art Gallery (NMAG) Papua New Guinea National Museum located at Waigani near PNG Parlament Port Moresby Golf Club The Port Moresby golf course is located in Waigani behind PNG Parliament and was built over top an American dispersal and camp area between 5 Mile Drone (Wards Drome) and 7 Mile Drone (Jackson). Several of the greens were made inside wartime revetments. A larger water hazard on at the edge of the course contains a P-40 Warhawk fuselage dumped into the hole during the war. Contribute
