Location
Lat 6° 43' 0S Long 147° 24' 0E Yambo is located at sea level on the southern coast of the Huon Peninsula on the northern coast of New Guinea. Borders Huon Gulf to the south. To the west is Lae. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of Morobe District in the Territory of New Guinea. Today part of Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
