Location
Bau Island is located at the northern edge of Rendova Harbor. Also known as Bou Island. To the north borders Blanche Channel and to the south borders Rendova Harbor and beyond Rendova Island. To the west is Pau Island and to the southwest is Lumbaria Island (Lubaria). To the east is the Renard Entrance (Renard Channel Entrance) and beyond Kokorana Island. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate (BSIP). Today located in Western
Province in the Solomon Islands.
Rendova PT Boat Base (Bau Island)
Built by the US Navy during October 1943, front line PT Boat base until middle 1944.
