Location Onua Island is a small island located in the Shortland Island Group (Shortland Islands) in the northern Solomon Islands. To the west is Orlofe Island (Orlofi) and beyond Shortland Harbor and Shortland Island. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate (BSIP).
