    Thousand Ships Bay Isabel Province Solomon Islands

Location
Located on the southeast coast of Santa Isabel Island between San Jorge Island. Name by Spanish explorer Mendaña who named the location "Thousand Ship Bay" believed a thousand ships could fit into the bay. Also known as "Thousand Ship Bay".

Wartime History
On May 2, 1942 a Japanese seaplane tender and cruiser were here while on their way to Tulagi, roughly sixty miles to the south.
