Location
The Taiwan Strait (Formosa Strait) is located in the and the South China Sea that seporates Taiwan (Formosa) from Fujian Province on the mainland of China. To the north connects the East China Sea. The Taiwan Strait is 110 mile wide with the narrowest part 81 miles wide. Previously known as Strait of Fokien or Strait of Fujian. Prewar and during the Pacific War known as the Formosa Strait or Strait of Formosa.
