Wartime History On August 16, 1942 in the morning, L-class blimp L-8 partially deflated flew over Daly City before hitting a house then landed in the street in front of 419 Bellevue Avenue, Daly City. oth the crew were never found and the airship became known as the "Ghost Blimp" or "Ghost Ship".
