Location Lat 13° 33' 0S Long 167° 19' 60E Lesereplag village is located the shore of Uréparapara Island in the Banks Islands in Torba Province in northern Vanuatu (Republic of Vanuatu, New Hebrides). Also known as Lear, Léar or Léséréplag. In 2001, the small village had 201 residents. Jean-Claude Tranape visited in October 2001: "The chief explained to us that his village was very alone and enclave in the ocean. When the WWII was finished, the American soldiers gave many tools and gifts useful for the natives, to thanks peoples for their help. The natives are grateful still now. They have no computer, no electricity, no phone (The phone was cut because no money), no radio, absolutely nothing. The ship which supply the island come 1 or 2 times in the year because the island is far from Port Vila or Luganville."
