General Tomoyuki Yamashita offically surrenders all Japanese forces in the Philippines inside the U.S. Ambassador's Residence at Camp John Hay near Baguio
Seated at the opposite side of the table are senior Allied officers including Lt. General Arthur Percival and Lt. General Jonathan M. Wainwright who were both Prisoners Of War (POWs) of the Japanese also seated across is Commodore Norman C. Gillette, USN, Deputy Commander, Philippine Sea Frontier. Standing behind the table are other senior military officers, Military Police (MP) and members of the press.
