Marcos Museum & Mausoleum

The Marcos Museum & Mausoleum is devoted to Ferdinand E. Marcos who was born at nearby Bario 2 San Agustin, Sarrat in Batac, served in World War II and later became the President of the Philippines. The museum includes a wall dedicated to Marcos military service in the Philippine Army and defense of the Bataan Peninsula and support of U.S. Army forces during the 1945 liberation.

Marcos Mausoleum
On September 7, 1993 the body of Ferdinand E. Marcos was flown from Oahu via Guam to Laoag Airport in the Philippines and later placed on display preserved in a refrigerated crypt in the mausoleum across from the museum. On November 18, 2016 his body was flown to Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB, Cemetery of the Heroes) for permenant burial.
