Japanese Naval Air Force Fighter Units and Their Aces 1932-1945 Originally published in 1989 as Japanese Naval Aces and Fighter Units of WWII, this is an updated and revised version of the book, with a new publisher, cover art and content. Different than the original, there is merit to having both the original version and this new release. Revised and updated, Japanese coauthors Hata and Izawa bring an excellent summary of Japanese Navy aviation with focus on pilot biographies. They have utilized the Japanese official history, defense archives records and veterans. Like the original, this book is divided into three section. The first is a historical overview of Japanese Navy aviation in the Pacific War. Also histories of each Navy Air Group (Kokutai). Finally, biographies and summaries of Japanese Navy aces. Co-authored with Christopher Shores who worked with Hata and Izawa on Japanese Army Air Force Fighter Units And Their Aces 1931-1945.
