Ship History Built by Electric Boat Co., Elco Works, Bayonne, NJ. Laid down February 27, 1943 as a 80' Elco Motor Torpedo Boat. Launched May 7, 1943 as PT-341. Completed May 28, 1943 and placed into service in the U.S. Navy (USN). Wartime History Assigned to Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 24 (MTBRon 24) and shipped as cargo across the Pacific to the South West Pacific Area (SWPA). Nicknamed "The Joseph Lynch" and later renamed "Death Hawk". In April 1944 assigned to Ensign Oscar C. Blanchard. Operates from Kana Kopa PT Boat Base then Dreger Harbor PT Boat Base and later Saidor. On April 24, 1944 moored at Madang Harbor. On April 30, 1944 moored at Sek Harbor (Alexishafen Harbor) off Alexishafen. Photographed with a Japanese skull aboard as a mascot atop a light fixture. Later, operates from Mios Woendi PT Boat Base and Amsterdam Island. During late 1944 moves to Mindoro PT Boat Base in the Philippines , followed by Zamboanga, Polloc Harbor, Sarangani Bay, and Davao Gulf. During May 1945 assgined to Ensign D. A. Zoeller until the end of the Pacific War. Postwar On November 6, 1945 placed out of service in the Philippines. On November 28, 1945 struck from Navy Register.
