Ship History Built by Electric Boat Company (Elco) in Bayonne, NJ. Laid down April 27, 1943 as 80' Elco Motor Torpedo Boat. Launched July 8, 1943 as PT-361. Completed as July 27, 1943 and placed into service with the U.S. Navy (USN). Wartime History Assigned to Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 27 (MTBS-27) in the South Pacific (SoPAC). Nicknamed "Miss Mahnuki". PT-361 operated from Stirling PT Boat Base (Treasury Base) and Green Island PT Boat Base (Nissan). Afterwards, Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 27 (MTBS-27) was temporarily assigned to the 3rd Fleet and operated in Palau and the Mariana Islands during October 1944 until December 1944. During December 1944, transfered to the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) and operated from San Pedro Bay off Leyte in the Philippines. Next, operates from Subic Bay off Luzon. During March 1945, conducts operations in Manila Bay to clear Japanese from shipwrecks and photographed by Carl Mydans from LIFE Magazine. Later, operates from Balikpapan on Borneo until the end of the Pacific War then returned to the Philippines. Postwar On October 19, 1945 placed out of service. During May 1946 transfered to the State Department, Foreign Liquidation Commission and offered for sale. Ultimate fate unknown.
