Visible is damage from the kamikaze plane that hit the starboard side below the bridge on May 9, 1945. On the face of the bridge is the destroyer's scoreboard with the silhouette of a submarine with six Japanese rising sun flags and the silhouette of a twin engine plane with one rising sun flag and a silhouette of a single engine fighter with two rising sun flags. Below is a pennant representing her Presidential Unit Citation pennant for May 1944 sinking six submarines. On the port side of the bridge is a fully provisioned life raft.
