Tank History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) as Type 97 Chi-Ha Shinhoto medium tank. Hull number unknown. This tank has bulldozer fittings on the turret to the left of the main gun, and front hull below and to the sides of the towing shackle mount. Wartime History During 1945 this tank was captured on Iwo Jima. A shrapnel hole is present on the left fender. Display This tank was transported to the United States and is displayed at the U.S. Army Ordnance Museum (Aberdeen Proving Ground). Justin Taylan adds: "I visited the museum on June 9, 2008. This tank was not on public display because it is under re-restoration."
