Tank History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) as Type 97 Chi-Ha Shinhoto medium tank manufacture number unknown. Wartime History This tank was captured by American forces during the Pacific War. Afterwards, shipped to the United States to Hill Field. Next, to US Army Ordnance Museum (Aberdeen Proving Ground). Then, to San Clementi Island and placed on the firing range as a target and riddled with gunfire from many different calibers. Restoration Later, donation to the Nimitz Museum. During July 1986 restored by volunteer Mike Maloney over four months for the museum.
