Background
The Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) Kanoya Kōkūtai (Kanoya Air Group) was established at Kanoya Airfield on Kyūshū in Japan. At the start of the Pacific War operates the Type 1 Attack Bomber Hamaki / G4M1 Betty.

Wartime History
On February 27, 1942 eight G4M1 Bettys attack the Allied Eastern Striking Force off Java without causing any damage

During October 1942 arrived in Kavieng Airfield on northwest New Ireland.

On November 1, 1942 redesignated 751 Kōkūtai (751 Air Group) under the 26 Kōku Sentai (26 Air Flotilla) and operated from Kavieng Airfield and Vunakanau Airfield near Rabaul.

Tail Codes
K-XXX (three digits)  used prewar and at the start of the Pacific War.

Aircraft
G4M1 Tail K-393  transferred to 751 Kokutai crashed Buka Island.
