Background
During October 1942, established as 34th Hiko Sentai (34th Flying Regiment) equipped with the Type 99 Light Bomber / Ki-48 (Lily) at Loilem Airfield near Heho in Burma as part of the 4th Hikodan (4th Air Brigade) in the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF).
Wartime History
During February 1944 moved to New Guinea but only had a small number of operation aircraft. Twice withdrawn to the Philippines for refit. During Agusut 1944 disbanded due to losses.
Markings
The tail motif were three diagonal lines with a squre motif in the middle with white for the 1st chutai, yellow for the 2nd chutai and red for the 3rd chutai.
