24th Pursuit Group (24th PG)

Background
On October 1, 1941 activated as the 24th Pursuit Group (24th PG) assigned to the Far East Air Force (FEAF) at Clark Field on Luzon in the Philippines under the command of Col. O. L. Grover. Comprised of the 3rd Pursuit Squadron, 17th Pursuit Squadron and 20th Pursuit Squadron (20th PS). Attached were the 33rd Pursuit Squadron (Provisional) and 21st Pursuit Squadron (21st PS). On December 8, 1941 at the start of the Pacific War participated in the defense of the Philippines until April 1942.
3rd Pursuit Squadron (3rd PS)
The 3rd Pursuit Squadron (3rd PS) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.
17th Pursuit Squadron (17th PS)
On December 8, 1941 at the start of the Pacific War went into action against the Japanese then participated in the defense of the Philippines until the surrender of the Bataan Peninsula.
17th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional)
The 17th Pursuit Squadron (20th PS) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.
20th Pursuit Squadron (20th PS)
The 20th Pursuit Squadron (20th PS) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.
20th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional)
The 20th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.
21st Pursuit Squadron (21st PS)
The 21st Pursuit Squadron.
33rd Pursuit Squadron (Provisional)
The 33rd Pursuit Squadron (Provisional) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.
34th Pursuit Squadron
The 34th Pursuit Squadron (3rd PS) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.
34th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional)
The 34th Pursuit Squadron (Provisional) was equipped with the P-40E Warhawk.
