On February 1, 1944 Headquarters, 309th Bombardment Wing (309th BW) is activated at Lae in New Guinea.
On March 1, 1944 Headquarters, 309th Bombardment Wing (309th BW) moves to Saidor Airfield in New Guinea.
On July 28, 1944 Headquarters 309th Bombardment Wing moves to Noemfoor Island.
On November 9, 1944 Headquarters 309th Bombardment Wing moves to Owi Airfield.
On February 8, 1945 Headquarters 309th Bombardment Wing moves to San Marcelino Airfield on Luzon in the Philippines.
On May 1, 1945 Headquarters 309th Bombardment Wing moves to Lingayen Airfield on Luzon in the Philippines.
