Background
Established as the 6th Observation Group in the U.S. Army Air Corps (USAAC).On June 20, 1941 became part of the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF). Renamed renamed 6th Comppsite Group (6th CG) then became the 6th Bombardment Group (6th BG).
