Pilot George Rogers (survived) Crashed June 12, 1942 MACR 15399 Aircraft History Built by Consolidated Aircraft Corporation at San Diego. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-24D-CO Liberator serial number 41-1090. Wartime History Assigned to the 11th AIr Force (11th AF), 28th Bombardment Group (28th BG), 21st Bombardment Squadron (21st BS). No known nose art or nickname. Based at Elmendorf Airfield. Mission History On June 12, 1942 took off from Cold Bay Airfield piloted by George Rogers on a a mission to bomb shipping in Kiska Harbor off Kiska Island. During take off, crashed and was written off. Officially condemned June 25, 1942. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
