Aircraft History
Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAF) as C-47 C-47A-35-DL Dakota serial number 42-23856. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 433rd Troop Carrier Group (433rd TCG), 69th Troop Carrier Squadron (69th TCS). Australian call sign VH-CDZ. Squadron Number / Buzz Number 60 painted on each side of the nose behind the cockpit. Nicknamed "Polly" in white on both sides of the nose. During early 1943, this C-47 operated from 5 Mile Drome (Ward) near Port Moresby.

On June 13, 1944 suffered a mid-air collision with C-47A 42-92028 near Dumpu but no injuries were sustained aboard.

Fate
Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
