Aircraft History Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank. Constructors Number 6341. Assigned to the USAAF as RA-29 serial number 41-23524. Royal Air Force (RAF) serial number BW662. Disassembled and shipped overseas as part of defense aid consignment. Wartime History On March 23, 1942 assigned to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Hudson A16-185 and reassembled by 1 Air Depot (1 AD). On May 11, 1942 assigned to 32 Squadron. On June 30, 1942 assigned to 3 Air Depot (3 AD) and returned to 32 Squadron with two addition repairs or maitenance with 3 Air Depot (3 AD) and 5 Air Depot (5 AD) on October 23, 1942 for installation of long range fuel tanks. On November 18, 1942 assigned to 1 Air Depot (1 AD). On November 27, 1942 assigned to No. 6 Squadron. On January 17, 1943 during the Japanese air raid on Turnbull Field (No. 3 Strip) near Milne Bay sustained damage to the ailerons and wireless transmitter. On February 12, 1943 assigned to 3 Air Depot (3 AD) for repairs. On June 3, 1943 returns to 32 Squadron. On August 7, 1943 assigned to 1 Operational Training Unit (1 OTU) but never delviered. On August 7, 1943 took off piloted by Robinson on a mission over Timoeka. Over the target, damaged by two bursts of anti-aircraft fire, causing damage and ripples on the wing and airframe stress. Afterwards, this bomber was transfered to 15 ARD. Its long range fuel tankswere removed and installed into Hudson A16-192 by 15ARD on August 11, 1943. Next assigned to 4 RSU on August 19, 1943. Disassembled and shipped via the SS Tulagi to Cairns and assigned to 5 AD. Officially stricken from charge on November 22, 1943. References ADF Serials - Hudson A16-185 Contribute
