Aircraft History
Built by Nakajima. Delivered to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) as Type 97 Fighter / Ki-27 Nate manufacture number unknown.

Wartime History
Assigned to an unknown Hiko Sentai (Flying Regiment). No known markings. This Nate ditched into Hakata Bay (Hakata-wan) 博多湾 off Fukuoka on Kyūshū.

Wreckage
On September 10, 1996 this Nate was discovered upside down intact on the sea floor. Later, recovered using lifting straps. The engine mount was broken from the impact but still attached. The wing Hinomaru (Rising Sun) insignia were still visible with little marine growth or corrosion.

Display
This Nate is displayed at Tachiarai Peace Memorial Museum.
