Location Lat 13° 4' 0S 131° 1' 59E Adelaide River Field is located at Adelaide River to the south of Darwin parallel to the Stuart Highway to the south of the Adelaide River. Also known as Adelaide River Airfield, Adelaide River Emergency Landing Group or Adelaide River ELG. To the north is Adelaide River and beyond Payne Field. Wartime History During 1942, used by Allied fighter aircraft as a base. By March 1944, this airfield was listed as an Emergency Landing Ground (ELG) known as "Adelaide River ELG".
