    Chanyi Airfield (Changyi, Zhanyi) Yunnan Province China
Location
Lat 25° 35' 32N 103° 49' 44E  Chanyi Airfield is located roughly one mile southeast of Zhanyi in Yunnan Province in China. This airfield is also spelled Changyi or Zhanyi.

Wartime History
During the Pacific War, used by the United States Army Air Force (USAAF), 14th Air Force (14th AF) as part of the China Defensive Campaign. Based reconnaissance and photo mapping units during September 1944 until September 1945. Also, based B-25 Mitchells and C-47 Dakotas.

Operation Grubworm: between December 5, 1944 until January 5, 1945, 10th Air Force (10th AF) transports air lift Chinese and American troops, supplies, animals and weapons to Chanyi, Kunming, Luliang, and Yunnani. In total, 1,328 transport sorties are flown with Air Transport Command (ATC) flying 597 sorties.

Postwar
During early October 1945, this airfield was closed. Postwar, used as a civilian airfield and air force base.

Today
Still in use today as Zhanyi Airport.
