Location Lat 24° 12' 27N Long 109° 23' 28E Liuchow Airfield is located at an elevation of 295' to the south of Liuchow (Liuzhou) in southeastern in China. Today located in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in People's Republic of China. Still in use today as Liuzhou Airport (Liuzhou Bailian Airport). Wartime Usage During the summer of 1942, captured A6M2 Zero 3372 was transported to this location and repaired. Used by the 10th Air Force by fighter, recon and medium bombers. During the middle of September 1944, 10th Air Force B-24s are used to fly fuel to Liuchow for flight operations. On September 15, 1944 thirteen B-24s fly fuel to Liuchow. The next day, nineteen B-24s fly in fuel. September 17 sixteen B-24s haul fuel to Liuchow. September 18, eighteen B-24s fly fuel to Liuchow. September 19, eighteen B-24s fly fuel to Liuchow. September 21, twenty-one B-24s haul fuel to Liuchow. September 22, thirteen B-24s fly fuel to Liuchow. September 24 eleven B-24s haul fuel. September 25 three B-24 haul fuel. September 26, B-24s haul fuel to Liuchow. September 27, B-24s fly fuel to Liuchow. September 28, B-24s fly fuel to Liuchow. September 29, B-24s fly fuel to Liuchow. The airfield was demolished before the Japanese overran the area on November 10, 1944. American missions against Liuchow July 31, 1944 - June 25, 1945 On June 26, 1945 Chinese forces liberate Liuchow Airfield and immediately start repairs to fix damage from Japanese demolition. During August 1945, unit of the 10th Air Force begin returning to Liuchow Airfield.
