| Location Lat 22° 36' 30N 108° 10' 21E Nanning Airfield is located to the south of Nanning in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China. Wartime Usage Nanning Airfield was first used by the U.S. Army Air Force by B-25 Mitchells from the China Air Task Force (CATF) as a forward operationg base between June 30, 1942 to July 20, 1942 then returned between October 24, 1942 to November 28, 1942 and finally August 2-6, 1942. Nanning Airfield was also used as a staging base for fighter aircraft flying missions deep into Japanese occupied territory including French Indochina (Vietnam). Attacked by American aircraft during late November 1944 until May 1945. American missions against Nanning November 29, 1944–May 26, 1945 On May 26, 1945 Chinese forces liberated the area. Afterwards, again used by American aircraft until the end of the Pacific War. Today Still in use today as Nanning Airport (Wuxu Airport) as a dual military and civilian airfield.
