    Cagayan Airfield Misamis Oriental Province Philippines
Location
Lat 8° 29' 0" Long 124° 37' 0"  Cagayan Airfield is located to the south of Cagayan (Cagayan de Oro) in Misamis Oriental Province on Mindanao in the Philippines. To the southwest is Lumina Airfield (Cagayan South, Libona).

Construction
Built prewar as a military airfield.

Wartime History
On December 14, 1941 B-17 piloted by 1st Lt. Hewitt T. "Shorty" Wheless was returning from a bombing mission against Legaspi damaged and made an emergency landing at Cagayan Airfield, and was later awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (DSC) for the mission.

During late April 1942 occupied by the Japanese and used as a military airfield during their occupation of the Philippines. Starting in the middle of October 1944 attacked by American fighter and bombers until early December 1944.

Today
Still in use today as Cagayan de Oro Airport. The single runway is oriented 19/01 measures 8,050' x 118' surfaced with asphalt. Airport Codes: ICAO: RPML IATA: CGY.
