November 5, 1944

Location
Lat 14° 35' 0" N Long 121° 0' 0" E  Mandaluyong West Airfield was located at Mandaluyong in Manila, the main runway was parallel to Highway 54 (Shaw Blvd) and north of the Mandaluyong River. Mandaluyong rail road is located to the south. Pasig is to the north-west. Wack Wack Golf Club is south-east and Mandaluyong Psycopathic Hospital to the east. To the northeast is Mandaluyong East Airfield. Known as "Mandaluyong Airfield" or "Mandaluyong West Airfield"

Construction
Built by the Japanese during early 1944, but was not completed. A map from November 29, 1944 lists the airfield as "proposed". This area was liberated by the U.S. Army during February 9-10, 1945.

Tony Feredo adds:
"[Circa September 1944] Mandaluyong West Airfield was said to be abandoned. Possible logistic problems as the main roads are a little bit far plus the railways if cut can lead to isolation and re-supply. The Mandaluyong East is just at Highway 54 and offers better terrain and re-supply routes.

Today
Disused since the war, this area is developed into Mandaluyong city.
