Location
Lat 9° 8' 9S Long 147° 40' 10E Kagi Airport is located at an elevation of 4,200' to the south of Kagi on the Kokoda Trail in the Owen Stanley Range in New Guinea. Prewar and during the Pacific War known as the Central District of the Territory of Papua. Today located in Central Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Construction
Built postwar as a single grass surfaced runway on a downward slope.

Today
Kagi Airport is a small airfield suitable for light aircraft only. Airport code: IATA: KGW.

Aircraft Wreckage
A civilian aircraft crashed near this airstrip in the 1980s. Wreckage is located to the north of the airfield. Reportedly, a propeller from this wreck is displayed at the airfield today.
