Gun History Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) as 75mm Type 88 anti-aircraft gun serial number unknown. Wartime History This gun was transported to New Guinea. During 1943, this gun was one of five emplaced in a revetment constructed from coral rubble as part of a battery on the peninsula overlooking Sek Harbor near Alexishafen Catholic Mission at Alexishafen. This gun was part of anti-aircraft defense for the Alexishafen area. On December 28, 1943 this gun battery was photographed before and after a bombing raid by B-24 Liberators. On April 26, 1944 the Australian Army liberated this area including these guns. Wreckage This gun remains in situ. The barrel is pointed horizontal. Contribute
